Cover Optimization

V236 Cover Design - Composite

Advantis carried out a comprehensive optimization and redesign of the nacelle cover for the Vestas V236, with a task-specific team assembled for the project.

The objective was to optimize all fiber components to improve both production efficiency and assembly processes.

Our team in Denmark collaborated closely with a team in China, as well as with Vestas teams in both India and Portugal.

The work was conducted in Creo over a period of approximately nine months.

Piping & Filtration System

Piping & Water Filtration System for Lithium Harvesting

Advantis designed this plant in close collaboration with the customer, who required a system for lithium extraction in connection with oil drilling.

The scope included the design of piping systems, filtration solutions, valves, pumps, and control boxes. Throughout the process, we maintained continuous dialogue and held regular review meetings with the customer to ensure the desired outcome was achieved.

This project marked Advantis’ first assignment within the field of process plants.

The work was carried out in SolidWorks over a period of approximately three months.

Design Optimization

Sustainability Through Plastic Collection

Advantis worked on product maturation and structural calculations for the collection arm of SeaProtectorOne – a solution designed to collect plastic waste from aquatic environments.

The customer requested, among other things, an extended arm to cover wider streams and rivers. SeaProtectorOne is already installed as a prototype at DOKK1 in Aarhus, where it collects plastic waste from the river on a daily basis.

The work was carried out using tools including Inventor over a period of approximately six months.

Concept Design of an Existing Product

Advantis was tasked with developing two concept designs for a more contemporary and modern version of an existing product.

The solution was based on retaining all existing connections and functions while creating a new exterior design that also resulted in weight optimization.

The work was carried out in Inventor over a period of approximately two weeks, and the customer received two design proposals to serve as a foundation for further development.

Concept Design of a New Sustainable Product

Advantis developed a concept for a container designed to break down and compress styrofoam—a solution that was new to the market.

The project was initiated after it was discovered that the recycling center in Albertslund sent out around 70 truckloads annually, each carrying only about 160 kg of styrofoam. With the new concept, the transportation need could be reduced to a single truck carrying up to 6 tons—significantly lowering CO₂ emissions.

The design work was carried out in Inventor over a period of approximately four weeks.

Product Design and 3D Scanning

3D Scanning – Product Tolerances

Advantis has performed 3D scanning for several customers to ensure that finished products meet specified tolerances.

The task involved comparing the physically produced part with the digital 3D model using precise 3D scanning. The goal was to identify any deviations greater than ±0.5 mm.

This process is a vital part of quality control and documentation, where the scan data is overlaid directly onto the 3D model to provide visual proof of the product's accuracy.
